"We have no choice but to fight" -Pi Shao-Tung,
Who knew Eunuch's were such a big interest group?
This is, effectively, a fairly simple story but it is executed quite well and features beautiful imagery and wonderful fight choreography. The straight-forward narrative showcases a great deal of nuance from the performances but also allows for the audience to feel the gravity of each of the dramatic parts with more focus. I love the look of the film, specifically the use of color, and the sound engineering is really special, along with the score. While I appreciate the whole film the last thirty minutes are truly special.
