The Double Life of Véronique is a mood piece, it's delicate and simple, but complex at the same time. It is like travelling through a fantasy, a dream. It's intimate, emotional and mystical.

This film has wonderful cinematography and it makes an exceptional use of color, with green, yellow and golden gradients and also a beautiful use of red... and a lot of symbolism.

The look through mirrors and crystals, through the small rubber ball that showed the landscapes mirrored, all those details point at the duality of the characters, of doubles, dopplegangers or maybe even an alternate reality. We never have answers of why there is this mysterious connection... maybe a product of causality, maybe predestination.

The Double Life of Véronique is visual poetry, a dreamy, imaginative, calm poem that even if I didn't fully understand it, was a beautiful and emotional ride.

I feel like I'm not alone in this world.
