I love gay people. I love that gay people get to know each other for like a week and then decide to pull of a very elaborate heist. I love being gay. Corky and Violet are far, far too hot. Wachowskis prove theyβve got talent from their very first movie! The sensuality, the intimacy, the wallpaper β huzzah! And who doesnβt love a mobster with a thick Chicago accent. Happy Pride!

Punch-Drunk Love 2002
I have been obsessed with the song βHere We Goβ by Jon Brion (written for, but not used in, this film) for a while and I finally got to watch the movie that inspired it. A miraculous, extremely odd little movie that is simultaneously about the complexities of human connection and fitting into your own life, and also a quasi-crime movie about a guy who made a poor decision and now has to have Phillip Seymour Hoffman yell at him.β¦

This film is almost meditative to me at this point. Itβs become somewhat of a prayer, or reverie, a dream-sequence that plays again and again in my head. The first hour, with its delicate music and gorgeous cinematography, felt so utterly calming, like a reflection on my life and Elioβs. I let the lingering of the camera wash over me and felt completely taken in and swept awayβ¦
