TIFF19- Film #2
Beautifully shot, tender, slow burn of a love story with powerful performances from both leads. Very thoughtful screenplay.
Some may argue it’s a formulaic love story but I’m hard pressed to see a formula in the love affair of two 18 century French women. The lack of gratuitous flesh scenes in this one enhances the sincerity of their relationship . My only quip was that the final scene seemed like overkill. Only a minor quip because I really loved this film.
