Burning is such an off putting film that shines thanks to its vagueness and distance. Theme wise, there's plenty for one to get out of their experience, and I can totally see the film being up for lengthy discussions, but what makes this a special film to me is that confident attitude that the film carries by taking an element away halfway through the film. Burning comforts you rather quickly to then leave you feeling alone and lost, for two long hours that would only seem necessary in a masochistic way. Wanting to know what's happening, hoping the mystery is resolved, this anxious feeling that's shared with our main character. A breathtaking and powerful experience that ends perfectly.
