  Theatrical cut. No other movie looks like this, or sounds like this for that matter. Didn’t get to see it in theaters but if I had I think I would’ve blacked out at the opening.

  Some of the early scenes, with narrative and thematic objectives that are only later revealed, still manage to stand out as essentially stand-alone vignettes. The bumbling hitman, Adam's wife cheating, funny stuff. The meeting about casting the girl. ("There's no way! There's no way!"   This movie opens with a shot of three friends, and the black guy saying in v.o. "You’re probably wondering why I’m hanging out with these two crackers.” Literally no one would be wondering that. Then we come to an evidently deranged schoolteacher telling two mothers that their kids need to be medicated - she personally diagnosed both students with ADD - or else there’s no hope. One of the mothers responds by saying “My god is bigger than your statistics.”…
