Harold Lloyd didn't have the pathos of Chaplin or the deadpan daredevil of Keaton but that's not to say he doesn't rank equally among them as peers.

Speedy is a wonderfully light-hearted silent comedy with a fascinating insight into 1920s New York. Other comedies from this era are about 'getting the girl' but Speedy already has the girl from the start, which allows the plot to meander more freely and keeps it from being bogged down by romantic tropes.

Another top notch criterion release that looks stunning on Blu-ray.
