They discovered what probably is the only surviving fragments we’ll ever see of this film approximately 4 weeks ago — the discovery of the decade for silent era aficionados. To watch Theda Bara during her prime, even if it’s just less than 5 minutes long, is an emotional experience. It really makes you understand why she was held in such high regard. Hopefully more films of the 1920s will be rediscovered in a collector’s archive this decade due to copyright expirations.
