Frances Ha

Frances Ha ★★★★½

Upped it a half a star for this viewing...Originally, I thought it lags in the second half but not anymore. The more you can see past Frances, the more you can see the overflowing generosity of Baumbach's vision in the other characters. In Sophie, Rachel, Benji, Patches, Adam Driver's character, there isn't an ounce of condemnation or condescension. I think of that rambling thing Frances says in the party about finding your love that you can always look in the eyes of and just feel at home. For the viewer, Frances is that person, but it doesn't close us off; to love Frances in this movie is to love everyone...
