JZB’s review published on Letterboxd:
Eddie Murphy makes his comeback in this biography of Rudy Ray Moore, known for his Dolemite persona in the 1970’s.
The film takes us through the making and expanding of Moore’s Dolemite character, from his stand-up routine to eventually movie making process.
Eddie Murphy’s comeback is a thing of beauty, as he proves he still has the comedic timing and charisma needed to carry a film.
A competent cast, which help compliment Murphy’s incredible performance, includes Keegan Michael-Key, Wesley Snipes, and Craig Robinson.
I hope that Eddie Murphy continues to involve himself in projects like this one!
