Kadeem’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was one of the more terrible movies I’ve seen. The idea of white Americans using different cultures as a means to discover themselves just doesn’t sit right with me. This movie gives the sense that those cultures don’t have any value outside of what it can do for a woman like Elizabeth. People of color, like in most films, are relegated to background, as just tools for a lost, unsatisfied white woman. Maybe I’m over-analyzing it?... no I’m not. This movie is trash and I hope we grow from tired ass storylines like this.
