This was even more thrilling than I remembered. Holy shit, that was terrifying. I haven’t seen this in 4 or 5 years and it was even better this time. Awesome characters, so much suspense, incredible score, a batshit-crazy-awesome performance from Robert Shaw, truly perfect performances from Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Schneider, and truly stunning effects and cinematography that have stood the test of time so well. The shark still scares the hell of out of me, and those shots of its teeth full of freshly chewed flesh are unforgettable. I also love the gratuitous shots of blood in the water at the end. That kicked ass. Golden age Spielberg was mind blowingly good.
