Paris, Texas

Paris, Texas ★★★★★

Paris, Texas is one of the most fascinating movies I have ever seen.

The film starts on a mysterious, but fairly slow note, we get introduced to the main character, Travis and follow him on his journey. His motivations and what happened in his past are left in the dark for a long time.
And then...the film very slowly builds up over his entire runtime to a soaring crescendo in the last 40 minutes that completely floored me.
There is a lot of exposition, but its delivered in the best way possible and truly just loaded with emotional energy. I truly couldn't keep my eyes off the screen during that last parts.
Wenders knows exactly what he's doing from the very first second and that is what makes this so effective.
Instantly one of my all time favorite films and I can't wait to see it again.
