This is either transcendent or moronic..depending on how much you care about mental health and the idea of LOVE as healer of all illnesses. I'll just say that it surely takes guts to make something as wrong headed as this. The confidence in the storytelling is dazzling to me, honestly. The movie is very entertaining. Great music, good visuals. Sara has the right energy, but not the technique to pull off such a role, but honestly, I don't think anyone would be able to make sense of the character. Dhanush is good, but on auto-mode. Akshay is terrible.
I can see this spawning a following, though how the fans explain the very fucked up nature of the relationship between two characters here will be interesting. The writing is terrible at exploring specific questions that the story raises, and in some places flat out just ignores them altogether. In short, I'll be waiting for the defensive essays!!
