Rafiki: local crackhead
CGI was beautiful, tho could've done with tears/smiles/eyebrow wiggles bc ain't it a comedy musical film?
Can you imagine going to a party boat, a muder mystery dinner party, and an actual high school party in one night? Introvert me just puked all over herself
But seeing Gigi (and Jared) at all of those parties gave me a sense of peace only people with social anxiety can truly experience.
[Hi. I'm not an academic over-achiever, but I did go to a high school full of academic over-achievers, and I was still the one with less experience. A whole other level of relatable.]
Here's the deal. I've been debating with myself for the last hour, trying to justify my 4-star rating. I've never given an Indonesian 4 stars. Truth be told, I haven't watched a whole lot of Indonesian films in general. Not because I don't want to be supportive of the Indonesian film industry, but because, frankly, most of the movies I see advertised on TV or which posters I see when I walk around the cinema don't seem all that thoughtful.…
[HALF-IRONICALLY RATING THIS 5 STARS]
this is an excellent action-friendship-romance-comedy drama and oh how i loved every second of it. contrary to recent popular belief, this movie is so fun, funny, and even beautiful at times.
anyone who rates less than a 3 is lying to themselves and needs to get their heads eaten
