This film folds in on itself over and over. Who is the butt of joke? The film, the makers, jake, art culture, the viewers??? It's a genius idea and wonderful plot but so much of that textbook Netflix neoliberalism allows mediocrity to slip through the cracks and lean on star performances. What I do love about this film is its playfulness there's an awareness that maybe this film isn't as good as its trying to be with scenes/lines that point directly to the joke. Critique is so limiting!
