"I fucked up my whole life because of the way you sing."
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. This is one of the greatest trilogies ever. Yes, a romance, not an action film.
I don't think I've ever seen more realistic couple interactions. The loving and the fighting alike, but especially the fighting. That's the hardest to pull off. Anyone who has been in a relationship should be able to relate to the disagreements and the way Jesse and Celine communicate here. I absolutely loved their back and forth as I always do and what I loved even more is that they never take the characters into a predictable place - after three films Linklater, Hawke, and Delpy have always stayed true to who the characters are at their core. You can be in love and fight at the same time. It isn't all or nothing and black and white - these films are all about the beautiful grey areas of a relationship.
