    Suicide as a form of revenge competes against the rest of the sick manipulations of the script. Both the bully revealing some self-clarity in why she bullies and the complicit friend-of-a-bully-but-not-really-a-bully becoming an adopted sister (even as a dream) are insulting interwoven with the film's chain of violence and harm.

    A grandmother is introduced, pisses herself, then dies, only to frustrate the story of the granddaughter. A trucker who takes advantage of the mother, recently escaped from sectioning and who is scripted as newly infantilised, has in fact a heart of gold. Physical violence linked with mental illness is used for comic effect, and all is resolved with tea, cake, and unloading the mother onto a stranger. Next to that is having an entire project crew choose to showcase Morrissey in 2018.
