The Holy Mountain

The Holy Mountain ★★★★

Endlessly creative from scene to scene, with a slightly frustrating first act and brilliant second and third. It’s occasionally a bit too new agey for me to fully fall head over heels for and it occasionally falls into the realm of being overtly edgy for the sake of it which are the moments I tend to get a little bored. BUT most of it is brilliantly weird in a way that IS entertaining, with it holding up a mirror to society in the most surrealist absurdist way possible. The planet sequence and the nightmare death scenes stand out for me in particular. Definitely a film I’ll need to watch again.
