Genuinely upset me to my core and expanded my understanding of what film can do. Love the way the general avant-garde fuckery and manmade horrors beyond comprehension are contrasted by the over the top tokusatsu-style fighting at the end. That industrial score hits too.

La La Land is a very powerful and lively movie. Within minutes of the film starting I felt like I wanted to get up out of my seat and break into dance, thanks mostly in part to the terrific opening musical number.
