Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw staring in this iconic masterpiece of Steven Spielberg. As a fun-fact you should know that Spielberg had a lot of trouble with the mechanical shark model. There had been so many malfunction that he asked John Williams for an iconic short theme indicating the shark avoiding to have to see it all the time. Let the viewer guess the horror was specially used by Alfred Hitchcock. After Jaws it should become the "major method" of the horror genre.
124 minutes of perfect storytelling. Considering the thin story about a rouge shark that has to be taken down Spielberg managed to create one of the best horror movies of all times.
I can't tell you how often I've seen it and it has never lost a bit of tension. Nowadays, directors wouldn't survive a minute without CGI and other tricks. I love it and enjoy every minute of it.
