  I often regret not being old enough to watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy during it’s original run, so viewing the extended version in theatres was surreal - and doubly so in the company of a few friends who hadn’t seen it before! I’m so warmed by the love that’s still held for this near-timeless franchise, and to witness it in action tonight with every loud cheer, perfect line recital and many ripples of fond laughter from the other movie-goers is something I’ll always treasure.
