Ive seen that this film tends to get used as an update post page of sorts so that’s what this is. Never made a post like this before, but I wanted to do this now because I have a very exciting announcement I want to share with the community.

I’m making a movie. A documentary. It’s called There Was a Cub Camp in the Poconos and it follows the last two summers at Akelaland Cub Scout Resident Camp, a summer…

This short’s a serious oddity. The canonicity of it and it’s chronological placement in the show is incredibly questionable so I just watched it after the season. It really doesn’t seem to fit anywhere else really but even post season feels very wrong so I’m not sure what to make of it. It also has a very different tone and style than the rest of the season which makes its existence and placement in the show all the more confusing.…

Mostly, it could be said that China won out at first and that Hong Kong was always considered secondary, but this began to change in the latter half of the 20th century.…

The history between Japan and China is a history more closely tied together for a longer stretch of time than any other international relationship in the world. This is a relationship that stretched back at least roughly two thousand years. No other countries in the world can claim to have that kind of relationship still to this day. The earliest mention of contact between the Chinese and Japanese is in the Book of the Later Han, a 5th Century text…

I spoke about this in my review of Hard to be a God, but I hate cynicism and nihilism. Specifically, that brand of pretentious cynicism that acts like they’ve reached enlightenment and that they’ve seen the hard truths no one else can see is angering to me. There’s so much of our culture that propagates that idea too. In cinema, in literature, in politics, down to the language we use. We describe cruel and violent men as having power, and…
