“I feel, in some ways, it’s the only movie that I helped to make.” – Elliott Gould

I am certainly glad to have held out on seeing this for a few years to experience it up on the big screen and on film. I was so deeply captivated by the intricate dance at play as Marlowe pounces around Los Angeles. I’ll definitely have to get back to this soon, as a lot of my reads on the film require some further investigation into the text. But wow, oh wow.

Watched at the new Beverly on 35mm!

Gets the Addams totally right in that this movie is weird as hell. Really cool camerawork and staging! You don’t always notice the blocking of characters in an animated film. Nick Kroll is kind of great as Fester in this, too. That Progressive billboard was the most demented product placement I’ve seen since Man of Steel.

You can’t just drop Steve Carrell doing half of his Michael Scott performance into a movie clearly written for an actor like Jim Carrey.
