O, my daughter, where will you go?
After you tell of my chasm of bones?
- Skullet Ed Harris
Wasn't sure how I felt about Saint Maud but this has cast away any doubt on whether Rose Glass has the juice. Maybe she's On the Juice. Juiced cinema

Godddddddd I need to get a life 😭 anyway hey did you guys hear that Putin retired after 9 years in office to spend more time with his family?
This movie doesn't mention the prime minister of Australia a single time btw
They really named the high school in proximity to the evil pool "Harold Holt High School" 😭😭😭 no way man
Punished for chilling too long in the pool that makes you good as baseball 😔 This is the water, this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within
Uses the goodwill built up by the assured hand of the first half to instantly hit you with a bunch of insane 70s sci-fi acid, and loosens the collar on all the bizarre gaudy gadgetry and kitschy humour which was leashed up a little previously. Villeneuve gets called humourless and self-serious a lot (even though part 1 has a number of laughs) but this feels like a definite response to that idea while also using the extra levity and the…
Rewatching a film in IMAX is just the easiest way to remind yourself of why you love movies. There's so much little detail here that I just didn't even pick up on the last times I saw this. It's set-pieces are honestly strange and its structure eases you into the world of Dune slowly, but after seeing part 2 I'm starting to realise why this half is more pared back (as pared back as a movie with production design and costuming this good could possibly be). I will be rewatching forever
Pairs very well with Tenet let's be real here. I wonder if Nolan has discovered the thing he's going to be making movies about forever with these ones. Like Paul Schrader and Pickpocket.
Dicko mode style parody version of Steamboat Willie. He has a swordfight with his peanus 🤣 they were making Newgrounds cartoons in 1929 bro they were going crazy during the prohibition. Anyways this is literally just on its own Wikipedia page in full. Funniest shit I've ever seen
This feels like it was made by someone who comes from a two dimensional reality who can't conceive of three dimensions or something. So painfully literal it fails to even meet the criteria of a metaphor but so painstakingly insists that it is one for its entire runtime that it becomes impossible to make any sense of. It's like watching a mirror and insisting there's something behind it over and over even though it's just a pane of glass. Genuinely awful
After making 15 stone cold masterpieces in a row with his brother, Ethan Coen instead opts to make a sex comedy inspired by shitty 60s sexploitation movies with his bisexual gooner wife 🙏 I hear ya buddy
Margaret Qualley is so awesome. Her accent in this is so stupid but perfect, she's great in everything
Seeing this and Bonello's The Beast so close together makes me think I need to read some Henry James. What was he up to, inspiring such wildly different films?
Sort of not very good, but it's a kind of nostalgic, old-school kind of not great which I found very refreshing. It's absolutely ridiculous that this absolute nightmare looks better than half of the MCU just because they put some real vehicles and locations in it. Who would've thought giving a disaffected Dakota Johnson character (she does a lot of lifting here making a generic character more interesting just by transmuting some of her IRL standoffishness to the screen) some…
