    Shazam!

It’s cool, it’s trendy, it’s funny, it’s Shazam. There is so much to like here, for a lot of people. Unfortunately I am not one of them.
Performances were excellent and very believable. I wish it had offered something  different. Then gain, it didn’t promise that. So, after watching the trailer, whatever your expectations were, they will be met.
Something about the third act that dc haven’t gotten right yet. They just get into too much CGI. It just bored me.
If you like this , great. But I just couldn’t connect to it.

    A Man Escaped

This was on my watchlist for a long time. And I am glad that I finally watched it.
The plot is in the title. Does he escape? Does he get killed? Watch the movie to find out.

Then the story went from being amazing to incredible.
Same comment can be made about this film. 2018 was a great year for documentaries. I am a little upset that this did not get nominated for an Oscar.
What a fascinating true story. Three brothers separated at birth find each other when they are 19. That is all you need to know. There is so much more. As the movie unfolds you get angrier. How can this be true?

    A Separation

Asghar Farhadi is one of the finest directors working today and this is arguably his best film. Every time I watch it I find something new in it. Every turn has twists, every character is flawed. The best part about his films is that he takes a simple everyday event and creates some complicated situations out of it. It’s like a time bomb just waiting to explode and when it does, you are blown away. I think you have to have a taste for this kind of films though, it’s not your typical thriller but it is one of the best ones in the genre.
