One of the earliest love triangles to be created through the medium of motion picture. Also, this has one of the first screen femme fatal. Storytelling without dialogue must have been an onerous task. It is incredible to watch these silent movies and be fascinated by the show not tell technique. It is impossible to not admire the craft here.
Made in 1927 this is a marvelous work of art. The story held my attention the entire time. I feel like the over the top expressive acting was a requirement for this time period. I mean, how else could you exhibit emotions? A lot of emotions expressed through facial movements and body language.
