Kahlil Haughton’s review published on Letterboxd:
A simple & intensely barbaric revenge story infused w psychedelic trips. I definitely wasn’t ready for it to be so trippy but I think that actually helped carry the film & guide the story through mayhem. I really liked this.
Excellent performances by Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, & I feel like Anya Taylor Joy’s character didn’t have much substance since she was the designated love interest, but I think her input in the journey was still important, especially by the end.
Not a huge fan of older time pieces but when you can emulate the grungy, barbaric mood AND capitalize on grounded witchcraft, I’ll always indulge.
