    Holds you in a spell the way that Petzold seems to be able to do as a matter of course, but it also feels like the director is aiming low here. He is capable of much more, but he also seems inclined to work in a Woody Allen-esque mode of regularly turning out tasteful, occasionally revealing small scale pictures that only intermittently challenge his own skills.
