while visually impressive, didn't feel connected at all. for an anti-war movie, it comes off as a more intense 1917 rather than horrifying (a la come and see). haven't read the book but the decision to include negotiations on ending the war added nothing

Damien Chazelle’s Boogie Nights. Albeit, I think I like this one a little better. Since he’s made quite a handful of features already, Chazelle is absolutely on point here, with all the extravagance and excess expected from a stained mural of this size, and then some.
