This movie makes Saving Private Ryan look like Finding Nemo
That movie was like so deep... because like the whispering in the background over the cool sunsets. Might change my Instagram bio to “The only way to be happy is to love” - The tree of life 2011
Seriously tho some things about this movie annoyed me, I didn’t really connect with any of the characters, and I wasn’t invested in the film at all, but I kind of see what Malick was going for and can see why so many people love it, but it’s just not really for me.
This is one of them movies where I never wanted it to end. The camera doesn’t leave Jeff's room once, yet Hitchcock manages to tell the most gripping and suspenseful story. It’s told in a clever way and is also very funny at times (unexpectedly). The acting is also great from everyone, especially James Stewart - you always know exactly what he’s thinking without him having to say anything, just by his facial expression and his eyes. I love movies…
