“The Terminator films are not really about the human race getting killed off by future machines. They’re about us losing touch with our humanity and becoming machines, which allows us to kill and brutalize each other. Cops think of all non-cops as less than they are, stupid, weak, and evil, they dehumanize the people they are sworn to protect and desensitize themselves in order to do that job.”

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

A lot of people over the years have asked me why I like the Star Wars Prequels so much. It does what it says on the tin. I watched it with my grandma. Who else?

I know it smudges some facts for the sake of heartwarming beats but I just couldn't bring myself to care. It's a really charming double act, Hanks in particular was born to play Walt Disney. Thompson always comes through as well. Two syrupy goats.

I'm surprised this seems to be getting more praise than X (which is vying for film of the year) but I did really enjoy it.

Goth is just the best. She seems to have so much love for this weirdo lunatic girl. That 6 minute monologue would be the best unbroken single take in the movie if it weren't for the end credits shot.

Ti West too, I love the decision to shoot this like a technicolour Wizard of Oz style musical. Between this, X, and Maxxxine I love that he's running the gamut of hyper-styalised era specific horror movies. Such a blast.

Scientific Fact: No matter what year it is, or where you are, if you point a camera at a group of young men one of them will say “Hi mum!”
