The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar 2023
Wes Anderson was just having a blast making this. All I can think to say about this is that it's short, sweet, and just very pleasing/entertaining all the way through.

Maid in Manhattan 2002
Is this secretly the predecessor or what inspired Shonda Rhimes to write Scandal where itβs a beautiful woman of color who so happens to end up with a republican? (Really thereβs no correlation, I just hate it, even if it is juicy sometimes)
Also, Jennifer Lopez, acting fabulously as always!

Slotherhouse 2023
"Are you ready to get rushed? ... Yeah, maybe you aren't rush material, you ugly bitch! U-G-L-Y, you ain't got no alibi!"
You know what you're getting into with that crazy opening scene! Slotherhouse demands you leave your logic and common sense at the door to be appreciated. When making these movies you have to fully embrace the absurdity and squeeze in as much comedy and be as entertaining as you possibly can. It has a bit of a hardβ¦

All Fun and Games 2023
It's all fun and games until you realize this is trash
Very Evil Dead-ish but with a "let's play an evil game" twist. Not many games were shown and the ones we got were the most common basic games. It's a good looking movie with known actors but it's so generic, forgettable, unoriginal and filled with horror clichΓ©s. Calling this camp would be an insult to camp, it's just bad. Asa Butterfield is overacting so much it's laughable. The charactersβ¦

No One Will Save You 2023
Tense, obscure, quiet, slow, repetitive, half-baked, unsatisfying, frustrating, boring, and unbelievable.
Cool sound design and aliens but this felt made for the stranger things audience except not as well-written.

The Age of Adaline 2015
"What the-- Five stars? To this? He gave five stars to this?! The Age of Adaline?! Five stars?! What the hell is he thinking?"
I know, I get it. I do. Even I'm bewildered by it.
But that's the great thing about film. Movies. Cinema. What gets you, may not get another person. May not ever affect you in the same way again.
But sometimes you watch a film at the right moment at the right time on the rightβ¦

Psycho 1960
I took far too long to get around to this, but better late than never, right? Psycho is undoubtedly a masterpiece, and it has aged extremely well. Every shot is visually extraordinary; you could probably write a separate book for each individual frame. I really appreciate the development of the story; it shifts priority to whatever is most interesting at all times to keep the tension and mystery consistent. The performances are also brilliant; Anthony Perkins' performance asβ¦

Becky 2020
I hear everything is saying in these reviews, about how the characters aren't fleshed out enough, how you never really get any answers to anything, or how the themes of the film never quite develop into something meatier. Sometimes however you just want to watch a teenage girl Home Alone a bunch of neo-nazis in the most graphic manner possible.
I thought Lulu Wilson absolutely slapped as Becky, she brought some real ferocity to the role. The big takeaway forβ¦
