Okay, the opening duel was so stupid I considered turning it off. Glad I didn't!

This film tries to run at least two too many plotlines, I'd quite predictable, and it relies HEAVILY on clichés of the genre. This is a bummer, as between the high production value and Harrelson and Hemsworth both delivering in the leading roles, this could have been pretty impressive!

Still, it's a solid modern western, and certainly worth giving a shot.

Side note: I always enjoy a good pistol whipping in a movie, and this has a well-earned one.

A couple solid action scenes! Really enjoyed the opening chase in particular! It felt... fresh.

This isn't an above average plot (by ANY stretch of the imagination), but the cast buys it enough forgiveness to keep it watchable. Eastwood has good chemistry with both Wanda De Jesus and Tina Lifford, and there are a lot of solid character actors in supporting roles. Mitchum's performance here is nigh legendary, and for good reason. There are moments where he is truly chilling. As with The Sniper profiling a psychopath, this is about as old a film as I've seen that's truly about a sociopath.

Impeccably well shot, the film is gorgeous. The score is excellent; memorable while not being over the top.

I do think a couple scenes feel a little forced--even silly--at times, which holds the film back for me. And, of course,…

I'm not sure why I did this to myself. (Note: yes I do, it was the last Predator film I hadn't logged, even if it doesn't qualify as finishing a series.)

Poorly shot, this film is indefensibly dark; you can barely see half the action. Too many meaningless, indistinguishable characters.

The only saving grace is that the final PAvP battle is pretty satisfying tbh. That's a solid, above average fight!

    Still, terrible movie, woof!
