The Perks of Being a Wallflower

While the book is aimed at the YA market, and the film was something I chalked up to being a 'teen film', I was very pleasantly surprised when I finally gave this one a spin, and it's been in a pretty regular rotation as one of the 'comfort films' that I can pop in at any time to relax with.

Just Desserts: The Making of 'Creepshow'

Having recently revisited the film Creepshow itself, this seemed like the obvious follow-up, as well as a chance to get something else off the To-Watch Pile, so I gave it a spin.

A Great little documentary from director Frank Henenlotter, this film covers the history of Sexploitation movies, staring from the earliest loops in the '20s up to the arrival of hardcore pornography in the heyday of the '70s, which effectively killed the softcore, 'teasing' genre for most audiences. It's pretty exhaustive in its approach and features a lot of reminiscing from veteran director/producer David F. Friedman, who was really interesting to listen to as he related his experiences in this bygone era.

    Highly recommended.

When I sat down with this one off the To-Watch Pile, I could've sworn it was a first time viewing, but I'll be damned if there wasn't a ton of familiar moments in there. If I've watched it before, I largely blacked that out, or I have seen an extensive trailer along the way, because certain key bits really stuck out as things I was already familiar with.

So first off, in a future where monogamy isn't exactly a thing…
