Andrew | A.J.’s review published on Letterboxd:
I'm not saying The Force Awakens is the best blockbuster of all time, but... it's up there.
After 3 trips to the theater (all in one week), this movie still blew me away.
As a child, I would watch the Star Wars films, and my dreams would frequently involve me, in a galaxy far, far away, piloting an X-wing or a Jedi Starfighter.
While watching this tonight, the sequence in which Poe zooms through the heavens, blasting TIE fighters into oblivion made me feel like a child as I visualized myself in the cockpit of that orange and black X-wing.
This movie is a fucking gift to humankind.
J.J. Abrams is my fucking dude, and if I'm ever a name in the film business, I'm going to go by A.J. because of J.J., because we share a middle name, because he's an enormous inspiration, and because our birthdays are three days apart.
If I don't stop gushing about how amazing this movie is I'm gonna need medication.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is an essential piece of cinema.
