Danny Boyle's T2 Trainspotting is one of the best sequels in recent memory. Boyle uses the twenty year gap inbetween films as an excellent narrative device, illustrating just how sad the lives of our characters have become.
Anthony Dod Mantle's colorful camerawork is a highlight, as are the performances.
If anything, Trainspotting 2 is about the beauty and the consequences of youth. No matter how fucked up or harmful your youth was, it was still your youth.
