Avery’s review published on Letterboxd:
Definitely not on the same level that the original is, but it's obviously not trying to be the same kind of thing in the first place. I mean really, there's a (kind of awesome) chainsaw duel of all things in the climax. Involving dual-wielding chainsaws. I really appreciate that Hooper tried something different here by making this a horror-comedy instead of just trying to rehash the first one, but certain aspects of this were just a bit too obnoxious enough for me to like this as much. Particularly Chop Top. Seriously, seeing Stretch cause his death at the very end was damn cathartic (partially for the wrong reasons, though).
