The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001

If you've never seen the extended editions of these films you are sorely missing out. They are the only versions I will watch. The theatrical cuts are tighter but lack depth in some areas. What a gorgeous film. Every frame is a painting for director Mikhaïl Kalatozov. This is the first film of Kalatozov that I've dove into and I'm blown away by how artistic he was with his camera work. Russian directors seem to have had a knack for groundbreaking camera work. Russian directors all used the camera so well.
