What's Eating Gilbert Grape 1993
Such an adorable film. It's a film to grow up with and rewatch... but I'm seeing it for the first time (in its entirety anyway). Johnny is awesome and Leo's performance was amazing.

The Gunfighter 1950
This film is so good. Great filmwork. Great interactions - so much going on. Great message. I think this would be a good partner to The Shootist. But I think I watched them in the wrong order.

The Godfather 1972
50th anniversary screening in a theatre with restored 4k print. The story and scenes are as fantastic as ever. The only thing is that despite restoration the quality is sometimes lacking in some scenes. e.g. have a look at the scene of Michael meeting Kay at the school. However, overall the lighting is used marvelous to describe character as well. So happy to see on the big screen. I'll go to Part 2 soon.
