"It's All In The Reflexes"
Lost in Translation 2003
Murray and Johansson are perfect in this!
(In flight movie)
Ocean's Eleven 2001
(In flight movie 2)
Slick, breezy and entertaining as hell, Soderbergh makes it look so effortless!
Between Out of Sight and this, Clooney cemented his status as a true movie star, the kind they just don't make anymore - suave, charming and ridiculously handsome!
Pitt is clearly having a blast and takes up his spot in the movie eating hall of fame!
Garcia low key excellent and rocking a cravat with panache!
An almost perfect caper movie that loses 1/2 a star for allowing Cheadle to do that accent!
Second viewing - Calva's performance is more impressive, Pitt is fantastic and Chazelle is ballsy as hell with some of his direction!
Justin Hurwitz is the MVP, that score is exceptional!
The absurdist comedy of the vomiting and snake scenes are what stops me giving it 5 stars, they don't work for me!
The "asshole of LA" scene is the demented love child of Eyes Wide Shut and 8mm!
(In flight movie 1)
Still feels as fresh and vital as when I first saw it in the theatre!
Role of a lifetime for a ferocious, unhinged SImmons and a reminder that the hype surrounding Teller was warranted - his obsession with greatness and need for approval is disturbingly real! Also a great supporting role for Paul Reiser.
Chazelle x Hurwitz is pure cinema magic!
An all time classic!
