finally watched this and… wow. i love that they take you on this journey with him literally, like ruben not knowing sign language, the film doesn’t tell you what the other characters are signing so you're right there with ruben not understanding what they’re saying and you rly get to see how frustrating it is. then when he learns to sign and starts to enjoy his new life, that’s when the film gives you subtitles to show what they are saying. the details matter. you hear what he can hear, you see what he sees, and most importantly, you feel what he feels.
