Ouch. How terribly sad, yet poetically beautiful. The effect of this film was immediate and long lasting. I was captivated by Colin Firth within seconds - I couldn’t look away, though his grief so desperately pained me to watch.
Besides the cinematography being completely mesmerizing, I especially appreciated the use of temperature saturation showing the tiny, fleeting moments of light in a world so unbearably dark.
