Nicolò Grasso’s review published on Letterboxd:
As great a coming-of-age comedy/drama can be, doing everything right, and then some! The performances are all around fantastic, Gerwig's direction is incredibly confident and sharp, the dialogue is brisk and fun but also serious and realistic in a surprisingly organic way (we've all had a fun conversation with our parents turn serious very quickly). A great showcase of the hypocrisies of teenage-hood, being both sad and hopeful, smart and dumb, all-knowing and all-ignorant.
Overall, Lady Bird is as fun as it is relevant, full of fun and relatable characters, sharp dialogue, and fast pace. The only negative is that it has one genre trope too many, mainly the whole "wanna-join-the-cool-kids" part, which could have been tackled a little better. Other than that, I highly recommend this!
