Very didactic to a fault, The Report is a perfectly fine political thriller about the uncovering of the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program. I wonder if its pedestrian approach to the story was due to them having a lower budget and shorter shooting days than originally planned, but regardless the film does a solid job at showing all the events that led to the publication of the report. The cast carries the entire film and keeps it from becoming a snooze-fest, even though none of them ever truly shines in a way that astounded me. An overall decent, but quite forgettable film.
