• Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

    Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

"You think it's so easy because I didn't court you or nothin', that that's all there is to it! I married you because I fell in love with you the moment I saw you, but I thought it was the same for you too."

This is rated G?? It is literal nightmare fuel and almost activated my fight or flight response.

  • No Country for Old Men

    No Country for Old Men

"If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?"

An absolutely unflinching and truly MENACING crime drama. Kinda in awe right now.. This feels like it will stick with me, particularly that diabolical performance from Javier Bardem.

Nothing goes unpunished. For your good choices and your bad ones, every action has a reaction. In NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, there is no mercy, no place or time for nostalgia. The world will spin and…

  • Howl's Moving Castle

    Howl's Moving Castle

    "A heart's a heavy burden "

I relate to Sophie because I too love big dumb hats, enjoy caring for people and my best friends are over 80 years old.

HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE is even more lovely, compassionate, and devastating than I remember.

A beautiful, beautiful film with a moving message.

  • The Blob

    The Blob

"I'll be good I swear... I'll never see a movie ever again."

I say this whole-heartedly, THE BLOB (1988) is one of the greatest creature features of all time.

All films could benefit from BBE (big blob energy).

  • Welcome to Chippendales

    Welcome to Chippendales

    "Half man, half naked"

I think they had the right idea. If I have to see a man's junk, I'd like a storyline involved and maybe
maybe some kitschy production value to go with it.

This depiction of the founding of Chippendale's is truly a realization of that quote "power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely".

Welcome to Chippendales unravels with a compelling and ultimately tragic fall from grace. Plus, the musical numbers are pretty fun! It does…

  • Into the Deep

    Into the Deep

    "Welcome Aboard"

Sleazy, nonsense thrillers are back baby and we don't ask that they be good, just off the walls with twists. The set up is definitely more interesting than the climax because the writing doesn't lend to much doubt or suspense once the reveal happens.

But INTO THE DEEP delivers a serviceable albiet underwhelming thrill, a great location (the middle of the ocean) made easy to watch with the wounded baby bird performance of Ella Rae Smith.

  • You People

    You People

"I am straight up simping for all of you"

    Well, my dad loved it.

Exhausting but I'm always happy to see Lauren London in a lead role.

  • Shotgun Wedding

    Shotgun Wedding

"Have you always wanted to be a pirate?"

These types of cheesy rom-coms are only as good as the post credit scene is we need to confirm that the cast had a great time and they DID.

The movie is standard but every laugh was thanks to the immeasurable, joyous, and national treasure that is Jennifer Coolidge.

  • Killer Joe

    Killer Joe

    "Just stay down"

Extremely grimey, perverse and vicious. Tracey Letts has penned an unexpectedly gripping crime drama with searing and memorable performances.

  • House of Darkness

    House of Darkness

    "and then I saw you"

This film felt like 3 am when you have a post bar hanger on who ended up at the diner with you and your friends and you are all trying to get across the polite way to say, "go home you are not getting laid."

So essentially repetitive and kinda droll. It tried to do a misdirect that was way too obvious from the moment they stepped in the house. The "ghost story" part was…

  • Fire of Love

    Fire of Love

""We are scientists"" they say, "We have but this one short life, then we return to the ground." With her one short life Katia dreams of growing old with the volcano, of turning over its every stone. Maurice burns to get closer to the fire. No matter what."

  • Emma

"Let his behavior be your guide"

I wonder if I would have enjoyed this more had I seen it before EMMA (2020). In comparison, this feels less charming, devoid of chemistry, and bordering on parody at times.
