  Everyone talks about calcifer being an indicator of howl's feelings a la sophie being able to enter the castle and command calcifer. But by this connection, the house itself can be howl's "heart" now too. And the way in which howl chose to build their new home from sophie's old one... To me, it's very beautiful to think of the sentiment of wanting his heart to be home to her.
