the production design and colors are unparalleled.
Geneviève and Guy's musical theme is CRUSHING.

And while the characters can come off flat, the story is so attune to the realities of life that by the end it knocks the wind out of you and leaves you floored in the cold, beautiful set design.

lalaland is nothing without this film and honestly i understand why damien chazelle would want to create something in -honor- copy of it, or at the very least feel so damn inspired.
