You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance
You can jive
Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl
Watch that scene
Dig in the dancing queen 🎵
Those days jamming to ABBA, swaying, singing, and putting the Mamma Mia! DVD on repeat. 10 years, who would have thought? Watching it again after years and years because I’m going to see its sequel "Here We Go Again" soon - Nostalgic feelings strongly wafted over as the movie still felt so cool and fresh like seawater air. There's absolutely no room for negativity, an ABBA jukebox that plays loud and proud, looping on wistful memories. So what’s not to love?
Meryl Streep's running, singing and dancing through the small Greek island is energetically and symphonically contagious. Nothing much to judge based on narrative style or plot movement, it is simply a silly, joyous musical escapism. So much joy one’s heart could explode…just look at that scene where Dominic Cooper punches the air, smoking his cigar while singing "Lay All Your Love on Me". Woah, it’s still the best thing ever!!! Money, Money, Money sequence changes the game and The Winner Takes It All duel is nothing short of ICONIC. Do I even need to mention Dancing Queen?! It’s Dancing Queen for goodness sake...ooh!!! And Pierce Brosnan’s singing…why hating? He’s 007.
