Paris, Texas

Paris, Texas ★★★½

A long, exhausting journey that rewards its audience with a hug while patiently waits for you to tear up a bit - A monologue to cry to, a boundless path to travel on - How is a place as vast, ostensibly lifeless, thorny and raw as Paris, Texas able to emanate such genuine feeling of melancholia? This is a slice of cinema that is silently drawn out, yet surprisingly laconic so when it begins to talk, it mellows in the gaunt man's neverending yearn and revels in the lonesomeness of the worn-out world. Like Travis having to walk miles after miles on the rough road, I was drained and severely detached but by the time I reached the final destination to pick up the broken pieces, I felt such warmth that usually wasn't there before...
